We built the revision app we wanted.
CIE Buddy is a study partner for Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A Level students. It's made by Krish Shah and Raj Chheda, who sat these exams themselves.
Why we started
Revising for Cambridge exams meant a lot of time spent on everything around the revising. Past papers were on one site, mark schemes in separate PDFs, notes and videos somewhere else, and little of it followed the syllabus we were actually being tested on.
When we got a question wrong, the hardest part was working out why. A mark scheme gives you the answer, but it doesn't tell you what you missed, and there isn't always someone around to ask.
So in August 2024 we started StudyPal, to put it all in one place. Thousands of Cambridge students have used it since. It's now called CIE Buddy: same team, new name.
What it does
Everything is organised by your Cambridge syllabus, down to each sub-topic.
- Concept videos: An in-depth video for every topic, following your syllabus.
- Topical practice: Real past-paper questions on just the topic you're working on.
- Paper corrections: Your papers marked against Cambridge's mark scheme, with the reason for every lost mark.
- Study planner: A plan that works back from your exam dates and puts your weakest topics first.
A bit about us
We sat our IGCSEs in the same March 2022 exams. Raj got A*s in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Krish had the highest mark in the world in Mathematics, which came with an Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award, and went on to A*s at A Level.
