How it works
A timetable that bends with real life.
Most revision timetables are out of date by Wednesday. This one is retrospective: instead of planning every hour in advance, you record what you actually studied and how well it went, and the planner works out what comes next.
- 1
Rate every chapter
Difficult, Practice or Confident: one tap, or the 1, 2 and 3 keys. Every chapter of your syllabus is already listed.
- 2
Log what you revised
Rating a chapter sets its last-revised date to today. Studied it earlier? Change the date, or press T for today.
- 3
Follow Up next
The planner picks the chapter to revise next: difficult ones first, then practice, then whatever you've left longest.
Every chapter, in one place.
Each subject shows how much of it you're confident in, how many chapters you haven't rated yet, and everything you need for each chapter.
Your rating
How well you know it, in your own words: Difficult, Practice or Confident. Change it whenever you like.
When you last revised it
Shown on every chapter, so the ones you haven't touched for weeks stand out.
Your notes
What tripped you up, formulas to remember, pages to reread. Kept with the chapter.
What's in the syllabus
The chapter's subtopics, so you know exactly what it covers.
Videos and questions
Concept videos for the chapter where we have them, and one tap to ask the AI tutor about it.
Revise first
Sort a subject by what needs work, or search across chapters and topics to jump straight to one.
Early access
A plan for today, from your results and your exams
On top of the chapters, early-access members get a daily plan built from how they're actually doing. Everyone can try it once. Nothing is judged silently: every item says why it's there.
A daily plan
A few items for today, each with a button that opens it: a worksheet, a video, a review or a topic to learn. Sized to the study time you choose, from 15 min to 2 h a day (45 min unless you change it).
It leans towards your next exam
When a mock or a Cambridge paper is a few weeks away, more of each day goes to what it covers, while the rest of your subjects still get time.
It ticks itself off
Mark a worksheet or a past paper, review flashcards or watch a video on that topic, and the item ticks itself, saying what ticked it. A missed day is spread over the next few days, not piled onto tomorrow.
Taught in class
Mark the chapters your class has covered. The rest stay out of your revision (unless an exam needs them) and show up as learn ahead.
Measured, next to your rating
Results from marked papers, worksheets and flashcards show as Measured beside your own rating, and say when a chapter is due for review.
Your exams and how ready you are
Cambridge papers for your series (where the timetable is published), plus your mocks and school tests with the chapters they cover. Each gets a readiness band, never a mark.

Study planner questions
How do I make an IGCSE revision timetable that I'll actually stick to?
Start from the syllabus, not the calendar: list every chapter, be honest about which ones are difficult, and revise those first. Then keep a record of what you actually studied and when, rather than a fixed timetable that falls apart after one busy week. CIE Buddy's planner is built that way: every chapter is listed for you, you rate each one, and it points you at the chapter that needs you most.
What does the study planner do?
It lists every chapter of each of your Cambridge subjects. You rate each one Difficult, Practice or Confident, it remembers when you last revised it, and Up next tells you which chapter to revise now. Each chapter also has room for notes, its syllabus subtopics, and links to videos and the AI tutor.
How does it decide what I should revise next?
Chapters you rated Difficult come first, then Practice, then the rest. Within those, chapters you've never revised come before ones you revised recently. Early-access members also get results from marked papers, worksheets and flashcards counted in, so a chapter you rated Confident but keep losing marks on moves back up.
Can it plan around my mocks and school tests?
Yes, in early access. Add a mock or school test with its date and the chapters it covers (or the whole syllabus), and Cambridge papers for your series are suggested where the timetable has been published. The daily plan then leans towards the nearest exam's chapters, without dropping your other subjects.
Which subjects and levels does it cover?
Cambridge IGCSE, AS Level and A Level: 18 syllabuses, including IGCSE Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics and Business, and AS & A Level Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Psychology. You see the chapters for your own level and subjects first.
Is it free?
Making an account is free. The daily plan is in early access: you can try it once, and after that you can ask to join the early-access group.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. CIE Buddy runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, and you can add it to your home screen like an app. On a computer, keyboard shortcuts make rating a whole subject quick.
